Update on Catalyst Strategic New Zealand – United Stated Joint Antarctic Research Programme

As previously notified, we have now held workshops to introduce the Catalyst Strategic New Zealand – United Stated Joint Antarctic Research Programme.

The first workshop took place on 30 May and was an in-person event at the Antarctic Passenger Terminal in Christchurch. A second workshop was held online on 6 June.

We had around 40 researchers and interested individuals attend each event to hear more about the programme, the funding available, and any conditions that apply to that. We also supported breakout discussions to aid development of potential topics and ideas for eligible projects.

We are now accepting expressions of interest (EOIs) for proposed projects.

An EOI information pack and basic EOI template have been sent to all who registered to attend workshops or expressed an interest in attending but were unable to do so.

EOIs are open from 11 June until 30 June 2025 NZT.
