The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) have agreed to hold a special meeting in July 2013 to break the deadlock of the 25 nations discussing the establishment of a MPA in Antarctica's Ross Sea region this week. While disappointed at the outcome Hon. McCully was pleased that the members did agree on an additional meeting in 2013 and felt that New Zealand is well placed to play a leadership role in advancing the proposal. More.
