The first major exhibition of Antarctic works by Invited Artist, Peter James Smith, is being held at the John Leech Gallery in Auckland, 8-25 June 2011. Peter travelled to Antarctica and spent 10 days at Scott Base in January 2010. He says: This exhibition results from the immediate and profound effect of that experience—of darkness, history, artefacts, sublimity, death, heroism, and silence—and continues to provision and shape ongoing work under the umbrella term Iceblink.  For more information go here.
