Sensory development of Antarctic fish
When Antarctic fish hatch in the spring, they are visual feeders, but when winter darkness arrives, visual feeding becomes impossible and another mode of prey detection must be used. This project aimed to determine whether the change in light conditions, and presumably sensory requirements of Antarctic fish, was mirrored by any changes in the morphology of the brain or peripheral organs.
