Antarctica New Zealand holds an Annual Antarctic Conference that gives groups supported by Antarctica New Zealand the opportunity to share their work with the wider Antarctic community.

The 2012 Antarctica New Zealand Conference was to be held jointly with the Australian Antarctic Division from 4-6 July in Hobart, Tasmania. This has now been CANCELLED.

Antarctica New Zealand will organise a substitute for the annual Antarctic conference in conjunction with the New Zealand ICEFEST Antarctic festival.  ICEFEST will be held in Christchurch and will run from the 14^th September to the 14^th October 2012.  It will be a celebration of everything Antarctic and will communicate a range of Antarctic topics including politics, arts, science, tourism resource use and protection.  At this stage we are planning to hold an Antarctic science event on the 4^th and 5^th of October and hope to use this opportunity to have scientists communicate with the public as part of ICEFEST.  We will communicate more details about the conference as they emerge.
